  I recently sustained a knee injury. My dog ran into me running at speed and knocked me from my feet. My GP thinks it is a torn ligament and I await an MRI scan. The knee swelled immediately and days later severe bruising occurred. Some three weeks later the bruising has just about gone but the knee is still swollen.
