A summary of the work is: The core building is 1850 construction, three-storey, solid brick walls. Demolish existing southern extension, built in 1950s. Create one new window opening and restore five window openings to previous size. Enlarge one window opening further. Replace external bricks as necessary. Repoint as necessary. Replace all windows in existing building. Remove ceiling to second floor to create vaulted ceiling. Reroof with appropriate insulation and slates. Remove internal dividing walls from 1950s. Strip plaster as necessary for damp proofing. Inject damp proof course. Dry line and insulate internally all external walls. Rewire completely. Instal underfloor heating throughout. Heat source to be heat pumps. Demolish existing 1960s garages and entrance lobby. Excavate basement. Construct, effectively on greenfield site, basement plus ground floor plus first floor extension to east of original building. Construct single storey extension to south of original building. All work has planning consent except the basement. Demolition work on the southern extension will commence this month. Further work will start as feasible in the next couple of months.
