This is a two handled push hoe used for weed control in row crops. Traditionally made by local blacksmiths, there are sadly only 2 working blacksmiths left in Lincolnshire and they are too busy designing architectural ironmongery. The tool consists of an ash shaft 1 1/4" diameter 4' 6" long turned at each end to hold the iron socket of the handle at the top and the blade at the bottom. The handle consists of a socket with a 1/2" handle bar with wooden handles at either end. The bottom of the hoe consists of an iron socket with an 18" long rod with a 14" wide blade riveted to it. The blade is sharpened both front and reverse. You can see a demo on youtube entitled Lincolnshire Long horn hoe or go to our website www.innovativeprimemovers.com for more information. This is a high end, quality tool, built to last several generations so we require a company with standards to match. Our main markets appear to be the USA, Canada, Spain, Kenya, Peru and Chile and our end users are larger gardeners, small holders, horticulturalists and anyone who grows row crops and one of the quirks of this product are that as some weeds are getting immune to some weed controls, some farmers are going back to more traditional methods of weed control. We would do the marketing for the product. We are arable farmers situated 74 miles from Sheffield situated on the banks of the River Witham.Read more
