  Good morning. We have a Victorian house in a conservation area. We have a conservatory at the back (ie not visible from road) with brick built sides and rotting woodwork/single overlapping panes of glass. We have put a lot of work into doing structural drawings ourselves but this did not fulfill the planning office at Leicester City Council. We need some help rejigging the application to get it put through. Basically we're planning to change the roofline slightly and put a solid roof on instead of glass to make it a usable room. We are thinking of using solar slates (if the cost is not too prohibitive). The application also was to remove a structurally unsafe 1950s garage with a broken asbestos roof and put up a side gate.
