  I just need a quick assessment of a property in purchasing, specifically the garage. From our surveyors notes: The brickwork at the rear right corner has been previously repaired. There is a tapered gap at the edge of the door frame at the rear right corner and the rear of the garage has a noticeable outwards lean. The rear right corner of the garage has been subject to structural movement. We do not know the cause of this and we are unable to rule out the possibility of it deteriorating. It is possible that the drainage from the rainwater downpipe in this position leaks and that this has led to softening of the soil beneath the garage foundations and subsequently to the movement of the structure above.
