My father has died and the house he and my mother lived in and owned since 1960 must, now he is gone, be soon transferred into my mother’s sole name. They bought & owned the house together in 1960 & anyway his Will bequeathes everything to my Mum. We have the Will and the Deeds to the house and solicitors letters from 1960 confirming the sale as well as an official document called Abstract of title dated 1959 which logs ownership of the property back as far as 25th Jan 1850. The property was not registered by my Mum and Dad with the Land Registry back in 1960 so we need a Solicitor who can carry out a First Registration of the property and change the name of ownership over to show just my mum’s name. We may need to sell the property before too long and have been advised that it must be registered with the Land Registry to sell it ? Many thanks for any help you can give usRead more
