I have a tenancy matter with which I need help. In September I was served a County Court judgement of which I had not been previously notified that action was being taken for the sum of £1441.32. The claimant is Tenancy Deposit Solutions Ltd t/a Mydeposits. The person on whose behalf they are claiming is Yu-Hung Wang. This was the first I had heard of such a person. He had been granted a licence to reside in my maisonette in London by a company called Estate Agent Power, of whom I had never heard and had never dealt with before nor had I granted them any authority to act on my behalf. I had however, sublet my property to Docklands Estates who it transpired had sub-let to Esate Agent Power. The details on the Deposit Certificate, although used my name, used a mobile number and email address which was definitely not mine, which may explain why I had not even recevied a Letter Before Action, although the Court judgement was posted to my home address here in Brisley, Norfolk. So notification of a pending action could similarly have been supplied but was not. I applied to have the judgement set aside on the grounds that Yu-Hung Wang was not my tenant and I had never had any dealings with Estate Agent Power. Two days ago, I received from Norwich County Court, a Notice of Hearing of a provisional hearing date of 13th March 2026, together with an incomplete bundle of documents. I would be most grateful for assistance and guidance as well as representation at court, as I am unfamiliar with the required forms and time frames. I feel that I need a more detailed statement on my behalf to be submitted and am happy to provide this, together with any relevant documents. Should I issue Third Party Proceedings against Estate Agent Power and/or Docklands Estates? Would Counsel please also advise generally in this matter?Read more
