Closed Curtain Alterations

I have bought 2 curtains for bedroom Each one is lined. We have 2 windows in the room. I want each curtain split in half lengthways for hanging on the wall at the side of the windows. I do not need to close the curtains as I intend putting blinds on the windows. The curtains are new and have top for putting hooks.
