I'm a Cheltenham based Media Composer looking to install some upgrades on my studio PC to improve processing power and am interesting in receiving quotes for this. I'm working on my PC everyday from home at the moment, so would ideally need someone who's able to pop round my house to assess what parts would need ordering and perhaps I could demonstrate the issues that I'm experiencing. I'd be more than happy for you to do any necessary testing while visiting. Basically the audio cuts out or stutters during playback when playing a project with any more than around 80+ tracks loaded. Currently I have an I7600k with 32gb DDR4 RAM - happy to provide more detailed stats prior to a visit. If you're interested in quoting, I'm looking for :- - what options I have to improve the processing power - CPU or RAM or something else - I'm aware my types of sample base libraries require more RAM and my colleagues have 64gb RAM so maybe that's a good starting point although I also use synth libraries which require more CPU. As I say, currently, when I load 80+ tracks in a project, the audio starts to freeze or stutter but otherwise the pc is very quick and responsive otherwise so I really don't feel it's necessary to change the system completely just yet. - a new faster and larger SSD drive so I can ideally transfer or clone my existing program files to this and use my old SSD drive for new sample library storage. - a good quality silent CPU cooling unit to keep my pc silent and cool during recordings in the summer months. - possibly a bigger case - because it was looking quite crammed inside when I took my graphics card out to clean it last year but if the new parts all fit ok then I'd be more than happy to keep this.
