Hello, I've got a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop which I initially got for uni work but which (due to personal and covid circumstances) has also become my main gaming device and the way I stay in touch with my friends through discord and gaming. I'm running Windows 10 version 10.0.19041.867, with an Intel Core i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz, 8GB of RAM, and 128MB of VRAM (if I'm reading the correct information display). I was wondering how to upgrade my laptop's gaming capacity and some websites suggested my graphics card was the weak link. One website recommended an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 as an upgrade. Would this be a good fit for the rest of my current specs? For reference, my laptop can currently comfortably run games like Hearts of Iron 4, Europa Universalis 4, Tabletop Simulator multiplayer, Minecraft multiplayer (albeit I've only played concurrently with about 4 people), Sunless Skies, and Medieval 2 and Napoleon Total War. It's also previously run Company of Heroes 1, Telltale's Walking Dead, and CS:GO, although with extensively reduced graphics to improve performance.
