We have a 17th century cottage where part of the roof height is taken up within the bedroom ceiling level (ie sloping ceilings). What’s left in the loft isn’t tall enough to walk in, but would be good for storage. It wouldn’t be as simple as a upgrade to a modern bourse as many of the cross timbers and joists are irregularly shaped (not modern planed timbers). It’s presently well (deeply) insulated and we’ve just had a a new roof with new rafters and an insulated lining. There is already a hatch in place but not very modern and no integrated ladder and no lighting. Is this something you’d be interested in? Amanda
