filling in a tax return on income earned via a second job (approx 19k)- my first job is PAYE the tax return so far only lets me put down my self assessment earnings as if it was for a business I owned which is not the case and it requires book keeping information which I am not privy to. Last year my self assessment earnings was 27.6k and I have already paid the account on arrears for this which is an overpayment as my self assessment income is less this year while my PAYE income has stayed the same. I also know my earnings for this current tax year and would like to file this self assessment this time the earnings are around 18k - I am aware that by filling in this tax return early I would pay less in arrears. What I need help in is actually knowing how to fill in the form itself/have this done for me - but I cannot get past the format of me filling in my extra income as if I am a business owner, which I am not.
