Hello, I am the Architect for a small residential project in Forest Row. The project requires a Fire Engineer's report for Building Control, to support the use of either (rather than the need for both) a ground floor mist system or smoke curtain separating the ground from the first floor. Currently the council are asking for both measures, unless a report is supplied. The property is a mid 1800s brick cottage, originally 2 storey. Current works are converting the loft, the property then to be 3 storey. The ground floor is open plan, so the stairwell to front and rear doors is not a protected route. The front window to the first floor provides the emergency egress. Please see attached drawings for the proposed scheme. If the location and requested report is within your remit, please confirm your fee for this and estimated date of submission of the report. Please let me know if you have any queries.
