• TGS Tree and Garden Services, posted on Monday 11 May 2020 When you say hardy for wildlife do you mean to prevent animals coming through or suitable for animals to get through? If you want a tough stock proof barrier I would choose a hawthorn / blackthorn mix. It will stop the local cat getting through and the berries are a good source of food for the birds in the winter. Otherwise I would choose a Laurel hedge, nice evergreen foliage and a good privacy barrier. I hope this helps, Matthew
