**ELECTRICAL SURVEY ON A HOUSE WE'RE BUYING** We’re renting in Teddington at the moment and have just had an offer accepted on a house to buy. The house is on the cusp of the Victorian/Edwardian era (so 100+ years old). We got the structural survey done on Monday, and one of the resulting recommendations is to get a electrical survey done. There is a current (modern) consumer unit which looks fine, but then below it there is an Edwardian mains fuse / service head which is very old/ Our surveyor thought this needed further investigation. He has recommended that the electrical engineer that does the electrical survey for us should be NEICIC Registered, and should test the installation to BS 7671 and compliance with 18th Edition of IEE wiring regulations. Looking for availability and cost to do this soon (by March 5th if possible).
