My ex partner is asking me to sign house over to him with a one off payment of 5000, I know I am entitled to at least 40000, the ins and out are he left myself and my daughter homeless through his infidelity, the payments have always gone from his bank but I paid everything else, my name is on the deeds, therefore I knew through all this time should he default I would have been liable for debt but I stuck with it....please help!

  • Accord Legal Services (Mid Glamorgan), posted on Tuesday 11 February 2020 You say "Partner" but are you married? This has a bearing on the type of ownership below if he dies before you. If you are the deeds you need to check if you are either 1. JOINT Owners or 2. TENANTS IN COMMON 1. = you each own 100% .. if 1 des the other automatically owns the whole property 2. = you legally own 50% each so can leave your share to somebody other than the other co-owner/s
