Breakdown of surface coating on an expensive Leather suite from Housing Units. Lightly used by wife and i since purchase in 2011 (June). Reported to HU who sent out a Leather technician who reported that it was caused by normal activity of sitting on the suite. I sent HU a formal written complaint on the basis that they had sold us a suite that is not fit for purpose and that they were aware that this could occur and did not advise us of this at the time of purchase. HU wrote back saying that they do not accept responsibility for the issue and offered to send the Leather technician back to repair the broken down surface as a goodwill gesture but could not guarantee that the problem will not recur. Could you please advise us whether this is a viable issue to progress through the legal route?
