Dear Sir / Madam I am looking to get a quote for some works at the Cairns in Charlestown (KY11 3EP). We are having issues with parking and are looking to introduce additional car parking spaces by extending the existing 'grasscrete' concrete grid which currently borders the road, such that it is at least a car width wide. This will allow cars to then park on the existing grass area without impeading the road. Please find below a specification which has been produced for the work (although please do let me know if you would suggest that it is better done differently). I would be extremely grateful for your consideration of this project. Yours faithfully Callum MacInnes ---- Remove all pre-laid concrete “grid” from around Cairns Approx 70mx1m. Lift 130m of kerbstone and set aside for re-use. Starting from left hand side of Cairns: Remove 29m x 2m turf and soil to a depth of 350mm. Remove 65 m x 1m of hard core and 65m x1m of turf and soil to depth of 350mm. Last section (past path) remove 4m x1m hard core and 4m x1m of turf and soil to depth of 350mm. Finally remove 32m x2m turf and soil to depth of 350mm. Lay permeable membrame 120m x 2.7m then fill with frost resitant hard core and lay grasscrete on top of a bed of frost resistant gravel for drainage and another membrane to retain the gravel. Place and raise kerbstones on inner edge.
