Centre stone of my engagement ring has not been set in the centre when made and I would like this to be fixed so that it’s in the centre. I’ve been advised by one company that the whole top collet needs to come of and a new claw setting remade and then soldered back onto the ring for the diamond to sit in. It’s a princess cut diamond. They also advised that it wouldn’t be covered under their insurance as the ring wasn’t purchased there so they can not vouch for the quality of the stone. Can you confirm if anything happened during this process that it would be covered under insurance? I’m not based locally in Birmingham so I can send photos of the ring showing what it looks like at present.
