I have planning for extension 6000 wide 4000 deep i am having a roof lantern in the flat roof 1000 x 2000. I want 2 steels to span the width of the building to support the roof and take the weight of the roof lantern. To help you envisage what i mean 1500 mm timber joist RSJ 1000 mm timber joist RSJ (Forms 1000 mm opening for lantern) them 1500 mm timber joist to finish front of the extension Instead of a wall plate bolted through the existing building i want to use a channel section up against the existing wall to take the timber joists. All steel work to sit on 100 mm light concrete blocks
