Hi Im looking for a rough idea of the cost to repair of a keel on an 37ft aluminium yacht. The surveyor has written the following; The whole section where the ballast is positioned will need cutting away and replacing. It may be possible to put the ballast back before the final side plate is welded on, otherwise the plates covering the lead internally will also need opening to replace the ballast, which may be the best way of approaching the repair anyway.
