Following a recent house survey I have had done on a Victorian property, I have been advised to get a structural engineer to check the stability of a support in the roof that has been put in to repair a split ridge beam. And to assure me that the roof is sound! The vendor says the repair is old and assures me that it has been checked and is safe, but he has no paperwork to reassure my wife.
