I bought a faulty Scheppach bandsaw fitted with a 750W 240Vac single phase induction motor, which had to be "push-started" before it would move. I hoped that a new start/run cap would fix it. After the correct cap was fitted the motor did run un-aided for a while. However when run under a light load it over heated and gave up; the motor body became too hot to touch in just a couple of minutes and the workshop circuit breaker blew out. There are no manufacturer's marks on the motor and clearly it has its own specific fixing screw pcd. If I brought it to you would it be it possible say whether the capacitor did not fix the problem and that the motor has always been the problem? Finally what would your estimate be for a re-wind compared to a new motor/cap package? (I know the cap costs about £10) Best regards, Phil Hartley (Workington)
