I have a 1978 VW LT28, 2.0ltr petrol. Being an old converted campervan the electrics had been hacked about a fair bit. Also being so old it was suffering from rust and as part of the rust repair process I had to remove the fusebox and remake and weld in the panel it attaches too. Since then I've got most of the loom back to stock as per the Haynes manual but have issues with the headlights coming on with the ignition, no hazards/indicators. The dash illumination and taillights still work on and off with the switch but the headlights seem to stay live. If I remove the fuses for either sides dipped beam the appropriate light will go out. I have the dash removed so access to the wiring is relatively easy. From my own testing the switches and relays work as intended.
