I need some advice regarding an alleged assault on myself by my partner. It was an argument that got out of hand and both parties were as bad as each other. I sustained some injuries and was stranded with no way to get home so a member of the public called the police. My partner was arrested and charged even though I said I did not want this and did not provide a statement. There has been police involvement in the past so they arrested and charged him themselves. He is now remanded and looking at a possible 2 years! I need some advice on what to do to ensure he does not get sent to prison. I'm not even sure why kind of solicitor I need advice from.
