I need help getting rid of a veruca on my foot. I have tried off the shelf things but hasn't seemed to help.

  • Health First Foot & Gait Clinic, posted on Thursday 15 March 2018 Thank you for your enquiry. I do hope you aren't in too much pain with it. Verrucae can be troublesome things, and difficult to get rid of because the virus that infects us hides itself from our immune system. For those who are into Star Trek, that's like Klingon warships cloaking themselves from the enemy. So the vast majority of treatments aim to try to help the body to find the virus and destroy it. Some are good at doing it, and some aren't so good. This varies between individuals and is influenced by the methodology of the treatment plan. Therefore seeing a Foot Specialist (Podiatrist) who offers a wide range of treatments is the best option if you want to get rid of them. At Health First Foot & Gait Clinic in Southam (www.healthfirstsoutham.co.uk), we have been resolving verrucae for 20+ years, using techniques such as cryotherapy (freezing), strong acids, laser therapy, and Falknor's needling. So please call us on 01926 811272 to make an appointment to help you.
