Closed Denture adjustment

Brand new dentures that I am unable to use due to ill fitting. The top denture extends too far down the back of my mouth, causing gagging, also the gum area is far too deep causing pain. The bottom denture is also far too tight and again, too deep around the gum area causing pain, insufficient space between my gums and cheek to accommodate the denture. They also make the remaining real teeth ache.
