Closed Hotpoint washer repair

Basically got a hotpoint washer on gumtree last year. It’s been fine. Did a wash yesterday morning, and then it tripped the electrics, So now as soon as I plug it in the wall and flick the switch it just trips, I’ve been told it could be damp in the plug or electrics,
