My mother was born in Port Glasgow, but moved to the US in 1956, but always missed her home and considered herself Scottish. However my grandparents, great grandparents and aunt are buried in Port Glasgow. She would have turned 80 on March 15. We are interested in putting a marker at my grandparents grave, that basically would say In loving memory of our mother Elizabeth Fields nee McQuilkin daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth wife of Gus Fields March 15, 1937 - October 25, 2011 interred in the United States This is just a rough draft, but wouldn't be too much more than this. We have cousins that are still in Scotland that I know would help us once we start the process. Thanks so much

Charles Lipton Ltd, posted on Wednesday 15 March 2017 I am so sorry the reason we don't do marble (white) is it discolours so quickly as it rains here a lot!! it goes green quite quickly whereas the all polished granite stays nice forever if you want marble I think it would be £325 for same finish lettering etc many thanks Charles
  • Whiteside Memorials, posted on Thursday 16 March 2017 Good morning and thank you for your enquiry. We have a range of grave markers to choose from in a range of granite colours and sizes. The best thing to do would be to contact us direct on our email address [email protected] and we can look into this in more detail for you. We would advise visiting the site to check what type of memorial is there to see if we can match it for you. If you have the cemetery lair and section details we can pop up the next time we are passing and check this for you. Our website also has a range of marker stones with prices which can help to get a price for you (www.whitesidememorials.co.uk). The only extra cost would be the council's own charge of £30 to place the stone there. We would also need the original lair certificate to place a permit with the council to do the work should you go ahead. I hope this helps in the meantime and we will guide you as best as we can. Kind Regards, Fiona Moore (admin)
