I have two reclining leather chairs each of which have two tubular seat supports. On each chair the same point has suffered shear stress and splitting to the tube support on one edge only where it crosses a small central support plate. The other metal tube sits across a forward projecting arm attached to the central plate and it has not suffered shear splitting. less weight, load maybe? Can your undertake a repair?
