The scanner will help BPC to provide the imaging facility to patients who wish to have their neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle or foot MRI scanned. The element of anxiety related to getting into narrow tunnels is reduced as the scanner is open and comfortable. The MRI Scanner at the BPC will allow patients to have a scan in a noise free, open environment. If their health professionals recommend weight bearing views, patients can stand while having their images. Scanning in a standing position is now becoming preferable for patients with back, foot and knee pain. The MRI scanner should be fully functional and operating from mid April 2016 and is available for patients who are appropriately referred by their health professionals. Local radiographers will perform the scans and experienced radiologists be will report these investigations. Other facilities at the clinic will include x-ray and ultrasound scanning. The BPC, is housed at 27, New Road, Bromsgrove, B60 2JL, a previous home of the well-known Nancy Doyle Clinic which has provided health care service to the Bromsgrove community for many years.
