I need some help and advice on what to do. My doctor kindly prescribed me metronidazole yesterday for a raging tooth abcess. (as I don't currently have a dentist). It is a top tooth and has resulted in the whole of the right side of my face swelling up. 24hrs after starting the antibiotics, the swelling is beginning to 'soften'. My worry now is the pus has obviously infiltrated my right sinus, every time I move my head forward, backward etc, I can feel, taste and smell the infected pus down the back of my throat. Really need to know what I should be doing here? Should I let the antibiotics take their course before seeking tooth extraction or should I be doing something about it now, if so, what. Please help, I am at my wits end with worry....and pain!
