I have a sofa-bed that is high quality and structurally sound, but it's 30 years old. The fabric of the sofa base, back and arms is faded with age and worn. When it comes to the cushions, not only is the fabric multiply torn but the shaped filling of the interior has started to fall out so also needs replacing. The sofa is large and heavy so it would be quite a hassle to get it to a workshop and back so having the re upholstery done at home may be a more realistic way to proceed.

Richdale Sofas, posted on Thursday 14 April 2016 Hi, We'd be happy to re-upholster the sofabed for you, however it isn't possible to do this in house. The process of re-upholstery is that the old fabric is taken off which is then used for templates for the new fabric. Cushions are measured & ordered to size, the fabric is sewn and then the upholster carries out the re-upholstery work. This cannot be done in house, it is simply too messy, too time consuming & there are far too many tools and equipment needed to carry out in house. However, the sofabed action inside could be removed which would make the sofa easier to move. if you would like a no obligation quote please contact us on 01159 396172 or [email protected] & we Richard will come & have a look at the sofabed & give you a price. As a guideline, it would cost around £550 plus fabric.
