Closed roof access hatch fixed

We have a roof terrace accessed by a hatch. Recently one of the struts ceased to hold the hatch when open. Replacement struts were purchased from the original company however when we tried to install them the rivets in the brackets holding the struts to the roof broke. We would like a trades person to let us know if it is possible to replace the rivets, mend the brackets or ? Thank you.
