I live in a 3 bedroom terraced house in Dedridge, Livingston. I am looking for a quote to remove the moss from the tiled roof. Not a power wash as I believe it can do more damage than good. I need advice on that one!!!

- Edinburgh Quality Builders Ltd, posted on Monday 7 September 2015 Hi Diane, You are correct pressure washing roofs is usually a very bad idea. If you have a roof that is mossing heavily then scrapping it of with a metal bladed scraper is the best place to start. You can also fit a copper band along the ridge. This releases tiny particles of copper that work as a natural pesticide that discourages moss growth. occasionally the roof might need a second scrape a year or so after the band has been fitted but its rare and as long and the roof was scrapped clean before the band was fitted this is the best option for long term moss control. It sis possible the moss has grown into the tile channels this can cause more problems but I would need to see the roof before I can advise if its an issue. Hope that helps. Regards Richard.
