I have a chiming carriage clock that has performed correctly for many years but now has decided to stop frequently at 7 minutes to the hour and if the minute hand is turned back a minute or two the clock will then run but chimes 20+ times and will not chime correctly on the 1/2 hour or the hour. The clock may run for a few hours before stopping again with chimes that are totally hap-hazard, Many attempts have been made to synchronize the chimes to the hour without success.
