I have an existing Listed Building Consent application with Maidstone Borough Council for a Grade II listed cottage in Detling. The proposal is for: • relocation of an existing domestic boiler to the loft space adjacent to 1st floor bedroom (already completed internally) • proposed new flue through the rear roof slope The council has requested scaled plans and elevations for validation, specifically: • Existing floor plans and roof plan showing previous boiler location • Existing rear elevation • Proposed floor plans and roof plan showing new boiler location and proposed flue • Proposed rear elevation showing flue in situ All drawings to scale 1:50 or 1:100 with scale The property is in Detling, Maidstone. 2. I have a Listed Building Consent application with Maidstone Borough Council for minor chimney works at a cottage in Detling (ME14 3JT). Council only require: 1 existing elevation 1 proposed elevation At scale 1:50 or 1:100 with scale bar. Works are minor only: • internal flexible flue liner • modest chimney head terminal/cowl • minor lime mortar repointing Installation of a flexible stainless steel flue liner within the existing chimney flue, together with an appropriate flue termination/closure arrangement at chimney head due to the absence of an existing chimney pot, finished with lime mortar flaunching where required, and minor localised repointing to the chimney stack as necessary. In the letter pertaining to the chimney liner they also requested 'Existing and proposed elevations need to show the ‘cowl’ and the pointing works and be to scale with scale bar.' My gas safe engineer states the cowl will not be visible from Street. If it helps to view both submitted applications on the planning portal I can give you my login details.
