I'm looking to get some work done regarding our electric shower. When we moved in the house in 2015, it had an electrical shower with an isolation switch on the other side of the wall (no pull cord switch). Every year or so either the isolation switch would fail or the shower would fail. I eventually removed the isolation switch to remove that point of failure. Earlier this year the shower needed replacing again. We've always used the same make and model and I bought and installed the new one. In under a month the water stopped heating up properly. As it was so soon after purchase, I sought to get it fixed under warranty. However, as there was no isolation switch I would had to have paid a callout fee that was double the price of a new shower, so I just bought a new one. This new one has lasted 3-4 months and the same thing has happened. I'm hoping you can: -Assess the shower and it's wiring to ensure that everything meets the required specifications and that there's no hidden cause of the isolation switch and shower failing. -Install a new isolation switch (the box is still there, I just connected the wires with junction blocks) or potentially install a pull chord switch depending on cost. -If there is nothing that can be done to fix the shower, to install a new one so that I know it has been professionally installed corrected to their specifications so I can claim on the warranty if it goes wrong again.
