Closed Trench needed to stop rising damp problems in house

I need a 2' deep trench dug out and a low retaining wall built to match other side of house. I'm having damp issues inside my house, but no problem at all where the trench has been dug out and low wall built on the other side. The damp proof company said it should solve all my problems if I get this done.
