Closed Knitting machine repair to ribber bracket nut

On my Brother knitting machine the nut on the ribber bed on the left hand side to secure the bracket to the main bed is in a horizontal position and connects safely to the main bed. But the nut on the right hand side is in a vertical position and keeps slipping out of the bracket. Sooner or later it will fall off probably on my feet, help please.
