- Mark Gosling & Co Accountants Ltd, posted on Wednesday 16 August 2023 Have HMRC started an enquiry requesting details of rental income or are you declaring this unprompted? Unprompted disclosure would mean lower penalty. Has rental income ceased because you have sold the property? If so Capitals gains calculations would need to be done on any gain on sale. Was the property a residential property and was it in the UK? Have either of you completed a tax return in the last 4 years? What other forms of taxable income do you have such as: employment, self employment, dividends, savings.Derek Meldrum

Mark Gosling & Co Accountants Ltd, posted on Thursday 17 August 2023 Hi Derek I am based in Inverkip. I do have a client in Kilmarnock. My fee would be about £600 each, plus an onboarding fee of £80 each. If you have sold the property an extra fee of £300 each if capital gains tax due. £200 if no capital gains tax due. This assumes property is in the U.K. - EDA Professional Services Ltd - US & Expat Tax Advisor, posted on Monday 21 August 2023 Could you please let me know more about your situation? Are you based in the UK or living outside the UK? Do you have any other sources of income such as employment income or self-employment? Have you sold any other assets in the 4 year period? Our fees start from £400 plus VAT per year.
