For example: Is this website public-facing or for internal use only? How much emphasis is on design and appearance compared to functionality? How many members / logins will it have? Can the public create their own memberships or is it only for pre-registered users such as employees or contractors? What member data will be stored? How many documents will be stored, both initially and on an ongoing basis? What format will the documents be in? Word, PDF, text, scanned .jpg, etc? What file size are the documents typically? Are we talking about 1-10MB (eg. a scanned photo or PDF receipt), 100MB (eg. a long PDF with a lot of photos), 1GB (eg. a one hour video file)?
