Hello, I am looking for a one-off quote please to produce what are called sand trays.
As this is a bit of an unusual request, I have sent out several requests to different woodworking workshops, in the hope that someone will be able to help.
Basically these sand trays are used by Clinical Therapists working for PTUK (largest child therapy organisation in the UK), to help deliver ‘Play Therapy’ for young children.
I will try to attach a sand tray image for your information.
For this quote I need to know the cost please to produce x 10 of each size as detailed below (30 sand trays in total).
10 - Large - ( 53cm (width) x 82cm(length)x 8cm (depth))
10 - Medium - (49cm (width) x 78cm(length)x 8cm (depth))
10 - Small - (43cm (width) x 73cm(length)x 8cm (depth))
The sand trays need to have a sea blue painted bottom (inside bottom only) and they should be varnished. Although they will only be holding a small amount of sand and need to be fairly lightweight for easy handling, they also need to be reasonably sturdy so they can be reused by the Therapist time and time again. As for the best type of timber to use; I am happy to accept your expertise on this and whatever you think will work best to meet the spec requirements, is perfectly fine. I am told no water is used with the sand during Play Therapy.
It would be very much appreciated if you are able to itemise the quote please (material cost / labour cost etc). Finally as part of your quote, could you kindly advise of the likely timescale to produce these sand trays.
