Closed Subaru forester 2001 key no longer opens all doors by key remote

I have a 2001 Subaru forester and it use to unlock and lock setting the alarm using my key, but now the key will only open and lock when inserting the key, I believe that this car has a modem in drivers door that use to send a signal to all doors to open and lock and setting the alarm this has now just stopped working, can you help.
