First off, the space I have for this piece (open bookshelf) is limited to 500mm[Left to Right/Width] x 280mm[Front to Back/Depth] x (minimum)1300mm - (maximum)1800mm[Top to Bottom/Height]. Its intended use is to store things that amount to a weight of approximately 10-20KG per shelf. The preferred minimum number of shelves is 4. It would be preferable if the highest shelf isn't at the top of the unit so anything put on it is less likely to fall off the sides. The lowest shelf can be low to the ground as I assume that would be better for the furniture piece's centre of gravity. Ideally, I would like the frame to be made from metal rod with a black finish. Alternatively, I also like the idea of an angled metal frame. By that I mean metal pieces that have a 90 degree bend in them. In this case, the cheaper option wins. I would prefer the frame to have a black coat of paint. The type of finish (matte, gloss, etc) can be whatever, just not a rubber coating. Wood and epoxy shelves would be cool, but probably out of my spending budget. So shelves made of wood grown in the UK is preferred. A dark wood would be nice, but a lighter wood with a dark varnish works too. The shelves don't need to be removable. Ideal shelf thickness would be from (minimum)20mm to (maximum)50mm.
