Good morning.
I am in a situation where my mother is withholding my personal identification documents passport birth certificate, bank cards etc. My children's documents are also being withheld.
I have notified the police but they inform me that there is nothing that they can do because it is a family matter.
The father of my children has tried to act as a mediator but my mother informed me that she will not give them back.
This matter has been ongoing since August the 16th and it is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety because it is preventing me to move forward. I am not able to replace the documents because of the cost involved.
I understand that it is illegal to withhold a person's identification.
Please is there any way you can assist me to have these documents returned?
