We have just returned from living in Spain for many years to stay permanently in England, and have bought an apartment here. We submitted our income details to the Spanish tax authority, via our Spanish tax assessor, for year 2021 before we left and the tax money will be taken from our bank account automatically in June. We also submitted our income details for the first four months of 2022. We have never had any foreign income, only UK pensions. We actually arrived back in UK on 30 April. I phoned HMRC on Friday 20 May to inform them of our change of status to resident in UK, and they said they will make the necessary changes to our pension taxation. The Spanish tax authority now want a certificate from HMRC to prove that we are now resident in UK for tax purposes, a letter of confirmation. Can I have assistance with this please?
