Since 2016 I`ve been investing some money in the stock market making very little gain until the year ending April 2021 when I gained £10311 which is under the £12300 threshold for CGT and therefore irrelevant. For the year ending April 2022 I gained £ 23123 and so I owe £1082 in CGT. Can I simply send the cheque to the inland revenue with a written explanation or is this just too easy?
