I am employed full-time as a Headteacher, but I have recently undertaken some consultancy work with Best Practice Network where I have to invoice them for work completed. I currently pay my tax and NI through PAYE with both deducted at source. Please can you advise what I need to do with regards to my liability through this second source of income. Is this something that you would be willing to advise on and complete the necessary paperwork to ensure that I am on the 'right side of the law'. I really know very little about how the tax system works. Best Practice Network have asked me to invoice them through my company, this is not something that I currently have set up, is this something that I need to do and if so how do I go about it.
