French polishing - chest of drawers, top surface damaged during house move, only superficial, looks like multiple damp sticky marks but will not wipe off. Willis and Gambier 'Versailles' range (cherry veneers).

    Traditional Restoration, posted on Monday 5 January 2015 Has the chest been recently re-polished? If so, the packaging material might have imprinted some marks on the top. Otherwise, it could be caused by a build-up of silicone furniture spray polish, where some of it has come off and some of it has not. This is difficult to get off, involving a lot of elbow-grease, and is a job which we could do. Where do you live? Best wishes, Audrey Thompson
